Action Needed: Student Assignment Project (SAP) Update

The Montgomery PAC and PTO Executive Board want to make families aware of the significant changes being proposed in the DCSD Student Assignment Project (SAP) Round 2 and how they could impact our school community. These proposals include positioning MES as a capacity-expansion “anchor” school and potentially reconfiguring it into a PK-3 / 4-5 split-grade hub.

Your voice is critical in providing feedback to DCSD during the community engagement period, happening now, time is running out to be heard.

What You Can Do:

1) Read the SAP letter from our MES PAC and PTO Board for an overview of the situation and key points to consider.

2) Attend a community meetingA community meeting for our cluster will be held Thursday, March 26th at 6pm at Dunwoody High School (5035 Vermack Road, Dunwoody). It is critical that members of the MES community are present to participate in small group discussions that will help shape the future of our school district.

3) Complete the SAP Round 2 surveyFeedback on these proposals is due by April 12th. (Note: This is at the end of Spring break.)

If you have any questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the PTO and PAC.

 MES Fine Arts Night

We're busy planning our upcoming Fine Arts Night on Thursday, April 2nd from 5–7 PM and would love to feature the amazing skills right here in our own school community! Are you a musician, painter, potter, photographer, or do you have another artistic talent you'd love to share with our kids?

We're looking for parents who would like to showcase their craft (think: a live guitar or violin performance) or lead a fun, hands-on activity for our little ones ages 5–11 (think: a watercolor painting station or a try-your-hand-at-origami table). No experience running an event is needed — just a passion for your art and a willingness to share it!

Whether you're a seasoned pro or simply enjoy a creative hobby, we'd love to hear from you. This is a wonderful opportunity to inspire our kids and celebrate the arts together as a community.
If you're interested in volunteering, please reach out to us at finearts@montgomerypto.com

Lunch Buddies

When you volunteer as a Lunch Buddy, you’re giving our wonderful teachers a relaxing and well-deserved lunch break. Nearly every day of the school year we need four parents to volunteer at least one hour of their time in their cafeteria. Just 1+ time per year between 10 AM–12 PM makes a big difference!

Thank You for Supporting the Mustang Annual Fund Campaign!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our Mustang Supporters, we didn't just meet our 2025 Mustang Annual Fund Fall Campaign goal—we surpassed it, raising a grand total of $107,714!

The Mustang Annual Fund provides the annual budget for the Montgomery Elementary School PTO, which funds critical resources and enhancements not covered by the school’s operating budget from the county. Every dollar we raised will directly impact our students and teachers throughout the year, funding essential programs, classroom supplies, technology upgrades, staff development, and so many other programs that make MES exceptional. You can learn more about all the activities your contributions helped the PTO support last year here

THANK YOU to every family who contributed; you've shown what's possible when our community comes together. Here's to an amazing 2025-26 school year!
